    Co-Founder and CEO

    Hyung co-founded Toro Neurovascular and is Chief Executive Officer of the company. He is a technical founder with deep, hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of medical device development, from identifying unmet clinical needs through design, validation, and early commercialization. He has over a decade of R&D experience developing stent- and catheter-based technologies for the treatment of neurovascular and coronary and peripheral arterial diseases, and has led engineering efforts to advance technologies from early concept through clinical application and commercialization with the goal of improving patient outcomes. Prior to founding Toro, Hyung was part of core R&D teams at multiple medical device startups, where his work focused on intra-arterial endovascular devices addressing thrombectomy, luminal patency, flow modulation, and physiologic signal monitoring. His strength lies in bridging strong engineering fundamentals with clinical insight, enabling focused innovation that delivers meaningful improvements for patients and physicians alike. Hyung holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, with honors, from the University of California, Irvine.

    Ryan Walker is a co-founder and the Chief Operating Officer of the company. An expert in medical device operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Catheter Design, Ryan has spent his entire career advancing technologies within the neurovascular sector. His experience spans the full lifecycle of device manufacturing, covering access products as well as ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke solutions. 

    Ryan specializes in organizational growth, with a proven track record of scaling early-stage startups into commercial entities, as well as managing operations for large medical device companies. He is dedicated to developing groundbreaking products and establishing operational efficiencies required to satisfy unmet needs for physicians and patients. 
    Ryan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

    Chief Commercial Officer

    Marc serves as the Chief Commercial Officer for Toro Neurovascular utilizing 23 years of experience in the medical device industry to commercially build companies across the globe. Marc has leadership roles spanning several companies including Penumbra, Medtronic, and Boston Scientific. Marc is also co-founder and managing partner of 3comma Medical, a company that invests in and partners with medical device start-ups to bring next generation technologies to the global marketplace.

    Previously, Marc was the Vice President of International for Penumbra, Inc. He helped lead the growth and expansion of the company’s international commercial operations to over 100 countries and had responsibility during his career for Penumbra’s business in Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Also at Penumbra, Marc served as EMEA Director of Strategy for Peripheral Interventions, Director of Sales Operations EMEA, and Sales Director for the UK, Ireland, and Australia/New Zealand. He began his career as a top performing Regional Sales Manager and Territory Manager in Penumbra’s US business.

    In the early stages of his career, Marc worked for GE Capital and Ford Motor Company. Marc holds an MBA in Organizational Management from Wayne State University and a BS in Packaging Engineering from Michigan State University.
